Jenni’s session.

I don’t know where to begin with Jenni’s session. This was something I had been dreaming of for a very long time. Her session was for a special project I was working on and was for promotional purposes at Race + Religious in New Orleans, Louisiana. I knew exactly what I was looking for. It took some time for the right person to apply, and that person was sweet Jenni.

I was looking for a red headed beauty. The session setting, styling and vision was begging for a natural red head. The reason is actually one you may not realize. I needed the coloring ad freckles of a natural red head. There is a certain peaches and cream coloring to their skin that would work so beautifully with the location. It was nothing short of perfect.

Most of the clothing I shoot can work on a variety of sizes. The clothing I had chosen for Jenni was a little different. These were more fitted and sized to her body. One look was a bra, panties and garter belt. It needed to be sized and fitted. Jenni and I had fitting. She put everything on, and I have to be honest. I had chills. Everything fit her perfectly. All this did was amp me up further to get to our session.

We were blessed to shoot there in November. The weather was idyllic. I can’t put into words how perfect this weather was. I believe it was in the low 70s with a slight breeze. The Fall sun is always my favorite. The way the light hits the earth that time of year has always made my heart sing. It was not exception on this day.

Jenni was nothing short of exquisite. She took direction like a star. She ebbed and flowed with my process beautifully. Why did this matter? This was my FIRST indoor Wild Clementine session. I have photographed indoors plenty of times, but not for Wild Clementine. My signature is outdoors in our lush Covington grass and brush. That was my security. This was out of my comfort zone. To have someone that could gracefully let me tiptoe into the indoor realm was amazing.

Race + Religious is one of my favorite venues. I stumbled upon it years ago before I was a photographer. I fell in love with it instantly. Every nook and cranny has character and charm that sings New Orleans. It was basically a photographer’s playground for me.

Here are some of my favorite photos from Jenni’s session. The obvious vintage glamour was something I had wanted to do for a long while, and Jenni carried it beautifully. I take it as a huge compliment when clients want to have another session with me. When Jenni let me know that she would LOVE to experience this again, it was the highest compliment I could take.

Thank you for the honor, Jenni!
